The BE L1 Coach - Introduction to Coaching Course, is for anyone aged 16 or over who is interested in gaining basketball qualifications and developing their skills in coaching basketball. The L1 is a beginners course, it is the basic level of award in coaching basketball. This course is an Assistant Coach Award qualification that provides candidates with enough knowledge to deliver sessions under supervision. In the UK you need to hold a L2 Basketball Coach Award to coach sessions alone / unsupervised.
This is the first level of coaching award coaches need to coach without supervision. If you are 18 or over and have a L1 Basketball Coach award and would like to improve your coaching skills, or embark on a career as a Basketball Coach then the L2 course is perfect for you. The course provides candidates with all the skills they require to coach a club or school team in training and games. The L2 basketball coaching courses give candidates the skill base and confidence to coach basketball in various settings.
The L2 Award is aimed at the beginner (experience as a player or attending a Level 1 course is an advantage). This course provides candidates with knowledge of the full rules of basketball and practical experience in refereeing games.
A L2 Referee is qualified to officiate at Junior National League, Local League and up to Division 4 Men & Division 2 Women Senior National League.
This award is aimed at the pure beginner. The course is a L1 Referee qualification.
A L1 Referee is qualified to officiate at school matches, youth local leagues and at recreational level.
This is an introductory level qualification for beginners designed to empower candidates with the skills, drills and basic technical knowledge to deliver recreational / social basketball.
These courses are aimed at individuals wishing to progress as a Table Official. They provide knowledge of the roles of the timekeeper and scorer.
L2 Table Officials can officiate at Senior National League.
